For classic Connecticut shoreline seafood, Noank is a short drive from Mystic and a favorite local stop. Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough and Harings (formerly known as Fords) are both well known for lobster rolls, fried seafood, and a true coastal New England feel.

For a classic autumn stop in Old Mystic, B.F. Clyde’s Cider Mill has been family owned and operated since 1881 and is widely known as the oldest steam powered cider mill in the United States, also the last one still operating. It is a must visit in the fall for fresh pressed sweet cider and warm cider donuts, plus their cider syrup, local jams and gifts, and the chance to see the historic mill in action.
